Getting started

Sports, free trial and your first tournament
Which sports does Rivalio support?
We fully support futnet. A league system, match system, and tournament series are in development - we will launch them in future phases. If you are interested in another sport, write to us at info@rivalio.cz.
Can I try Rivalio for free?
Yes - and now more than ever. Everything in Rivalio is currently free until we launch paid plans. No credit card needed; just create an account and start your tournament.
How quickly can I set up my first tournament?
After registration you create an organization and a season. You add teams and players manually or upload them from a CSV file. The schedule is generated automatically using a Berger round-robin and courts are assigned based on your settings.

Catalog and players

Publishing a tournament, search and player profile
Will my tournament appear in the catalog right away?
Almost immediately. Publishing in the catalog goes through an admin review - typically within 1 business day. Once we approve your tournament, players will find it in search results and on the catalog map.
Can I add a tournament even if I am not running it in Rivalio?
Yes. You can create a tournament in Rivalio as a public listing only - name, date, location and a link to registrations. The schedule, live scoring and other modules are optional and can be enabled whenever you want.
How much does the catalog cost?
For players and fans it is free - searching tournaments, live scores and results are available without registration and free of charge. And for organizers, everything in Rivalio is currently free until we launch paid plans.
Who will see my player profile?
Nobody, until you make it public yourself. A public player profile is optional - you enable it in the logged-in portal and can hide it again at any time. We keep personal data in the EU and comply with GDPR.

Pricing and payments

Tournament vs. subscription, invoices and payment methods
Should I pay per tournament or get a subscription?
Individuals pay once for a specific tournament (Free, Basic, Standard, Premium) - ideal if you organize occasionally. Organizations that run regular events choose a monthly subscription (Starter, Standard, Pro) with a quota of tournaments and leagues.

Tournament day

Referee on mobile and graphics for streaming
Does the referee app work without internet?
The referee UI is a PWA - you can add it to your phone home screen and static files are cached. Scores are saved online; we recommend at least 4G in the venue.
How does the stream overlay work with OBS?
In the admin panel you set up automated scenes (overlay) and get a public URL. In OBS you add a Browser Source with that URL. Anything supporting browser sources works - standard procedure for OBS Studio.

Portal and roles

Logged-in portal, switching roles and teams
What is the Rivalio portal and what will I find there?
The portal is your logged-in part of Rivalio - one account for both web and mobile. Depending on your role you have an overview, your matches and tournaments, a calendar, notifications and settings. The tournament catalog, live scores and results are public without logging in; the portal adds everything personal and administrative.
Can I have one account for multiple roles (player, organizer, referee)?
Yes. One account handles all roles at once - in the portal you switch between them with a single tap (Player, Organizer, Referee) and the content adapts. You get the organizer role by creating an organization; the referee role is assigned to you by the tournament organizer.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The portal runs in the browser on both desktop and mobile. On mobile you can add it to your home screen as a PWA, but nothing is downloaded from an app store.

Referees

Access, scoring console and match entry
How do I access my matches as a referee?
The organizer assigns you to the tournament and sends login details by email. After logging in you only see your own matches - live, ready to start and finished. You do not have access to the tournament admin and you do not need it.
How does score entry work?
You start the match and in the console on your phone you add points using large buttons, confirm sets and have quick access to sides, pause and timeout. The system tracks points, sets and the winner - you do not calculate anything. After the match ends the result is automatically written to standings, the tournament website and the stream.
Do I need to install or pay for anything as a referee?
No. The referee console is web-based (PWA) - all you need is a phone with a browser and an email with access credentials. You pay nothing; the system costs are covered by the tournament organizer. We recommend at least 4G in the venue; a brief outage is handled gracefully and scores can be entered retroactively.
